We were happy to find this place on our trip. The service was friendly with reasonable prices. Just what we needed for breakfast.

Typical American style diner with omelettes, pancakes, hot and cold sandwiches, French toast, eggs of any style. Professional, attentive service. Fair pricing. Mostly local neighborhood customers. Definitely recommend.

Old school classic dinner. No frills, just go quality food. Classic breakfast special is only $7.99. Has many options for omelets and benedict's. Servicers are professional, quick and pleasant. I'm about a 15 minute walk away and pass a number of other restaurants to have breakfast here.

Talk about a meal! You better be hungry coming here or enjoy left overs! Cool place and the food is spectacular!

First time visiting Chew Chew's Diner ... we had some time to kill and decided to get some brunch ... what a treat, the staff was wonderful, the food was great and the atmosphere is just what you would expect out of a Diner =) Since we came for breakfasty foods thats what we got, but the menu looked great and almost stayed away to lunchtime foods, maybe next time !!!

This restaurant is a great place to dine in and eat breakfast with coworkers/friends. The portions are big for a good price. I shared some of my veggie omelette with my partner and I ate some of the strawberry pancakes. The pancakes had a crispy outside with a soft and fluffy inside. The hash was salty and cripsy deep fried deliciousness. If I am in the neighborhood, I would go here again.

The food was great and the staff were awesome. I will be back again for good food and large portions.

If you are looking for a great greasy spoon in the area this is the place. The portion sizes are amazing. The food tastes great! The service was way above average! The serve the whole menu all day so stop by and get your eat on!

Awesome spot for cheap and tasty diner food. They offer a pretty large breakfast and lunch menu with about any diner staple you can think of. The service is quick and the servers are always ready to crack a joke.

Stumbled on this quaint place recently for a quick lunch and coffee. Though I liked the price, portion and taste of the halibut fish & chips, the chilly restaurant temp and fly at my table were annoying. Still I would venture a 2nd visit.

Wow. Love this "Great Canadian" omelet! The biggest omelet I've ever had so far. Very happy I found this early in the morning!

Incredible food and service, breakfast served all day long, good coffee, my favorite omelette ham and cheese, french toast and turkey sandwitch delicious, price very accesible, very recommendable. closes 8pm.

I think I just had the best omelette I've had since I've been in Toronto. So happy to find this unassuming spot just 2 minutes away from my house!I ordered the Macedonian omelette which had everything I need in an omelette: hot peppers, mushrooms and a ton of tangy, salty feta.I'm definitely visiting more often and I've taken it upon myself to make my way though all of their omelettes before the end of the year. Wish me luck!

What’s not to love about all day breakfast and beer? Steve was attentive throughout the meal, checking in on us regularly despite having a full diner. The portions were generous and the meal itself was delicious. The potatoes were well-cooked, but could have been seasoned a bit more. Will be returning!

it was cozy! nice diner energy. hearty meal of 3 eggs + meat comes out to $10. sunny side eggs a little undercooked, and homefries were just OK, but it was still nice

Great atmosphere. I usually go to this location for breakfast or brunch it's a busy place, the service is good, no long waiting, fair price. I will go back

Food was really tasty, very large portions and free coffee refills. The pancakes were enormous and they put in chocolate chips for free. The fruit was quite tiny. The creamer was cold which a bonus. It had a cozy diner atmosphere. One note was that the floor and stairs to the basement bathroom was just mopped. I asked where the bathroom was, and they didn't warn me of the dangers that awaited: after a cautious crawl down the stairs I was greeted with a dark, invisibly wet floor. I slipped, caught myself and ice-skate styled my way to and from the bathroom. I told the waitress and then she told me it was just mopped... The mural they have outside is beautiful too.

Huge portions of home cooked meals. Great selection of menu items. Cheap prices.

Great restaurant with excellent food. Friendly staff, large portions, good prices.Chew Chew's looks like a dive from the outside, but step inside and it's a trip back in time. Leather upholstery, large booths, cozy tables, and train themed decor. And they have a liquor license.Interesting twist - their burgers come with a serving of coleslaw. Fries and a drink are a separate order. Why? Two good reasons:1. The burgers are a meal on their own2. The fries make a meal on their ownIf you and I each get a burger, I suggest getting just one order of fries. They are that big. I generally get just a burger and a drink. Keep in mind - I'm 6' and 240 lbs. I normally take in large meals.Definitely give this place a try.

Such a great diner. Prices are great and we had an amazing meal. Definitely will be coming back!

Really good. Door dash isn't working properly and won't allow me to leave a review so I came here to do it. Ordered a bacon and egg sandwich and home fries for delivery. Holy cow the portions are very generous really enjoyed everything. The home fries were perfect. Not good, not excellent, perfect.

Check out this B.L.T. on Rye masterminded by the grill operators at the straight-outta-my-childhood Chew Chews! Served with a side of slaw, fries and two pickles, I ordered gravy on the side. The B.L.T. was a departure from my usual spinach and feta omelette (skip the home fries and you'll be offered a side of tomatoes) and I was not disappointed. BH always orders scrambled, sausage and rye. One of the reasons we skip the other brunch places between home and Chew Chews is the sausage, and my boy knows his sausage. (Oops.) He says it's the best in the city.

Great home style cooking.

A while back, I started walking east from Yonge, and walked east until I was past the park with small medium and large dogs running around, at Sherbourne. Then sat inside Choo Choo's waiting for my friends to arrive. They arrived and we had a great meal as usual. It is always a fun exciting place. I drew a picture because I like the place.

The diner kind of mimics a narrow railway (hence the pun) and has a cozy, 50's feel. Food tastes great and is served in large portions! Has a variety of breakfast/brunch, sandwiches, and mains. Will come here again :)

More inviting on the inside than it looks on the outside. Prices are a smidge friendlier than other diners. I got the Banana pancakes and was quite pleased. Food was of satisfying quality, didn't blow me away though. Service was hit and miss. The main server we got wasn't the best. She asked us how our meal was like 2 seconds after we got our plates, before our first bites- bit of a pet peeve of mine. Our food was brought by a different server who seemed a bit more professional though so I won't hold it against the entire establishment.

Ordered through door dash . Prompt delivery . 1st time experiencing the fantastic breakfast at Chew Chew ( great name) . Quality and QUANTITY. Price is reasonable considering the amount of food given and it’s taste. Highly recommend

So yummy! Big portions and delicious home/diner style. Had a Popeyes omelet and homefries and it was so much I had to take it home and eat the rest later! 2nd time here on my visit to toronto and would come back.

I’m very surprised that no one has said anything about the cleanliness of this place. My review would be more positive had I not made the mistake of using the restroom. I’ve never seen a more filthy place in a restaurant. It makes me wonder how clean the kitchen is...service half the time is nice. I come back because of the prices and location.

Very cute little diner and the server was lovely. Good was okay. It’s a greasy spoon menu but with some creative options like fried chicken Benny and meatloaf Benny. The food is decent but not mind blowing. Things were a little dry but if you’re looking for a casual diner and pie, check this place out for sure
